I am applying biochemical, biophysical, and NMR techniques to probe the folding and misfolding of Alzheimer's related amyloid beta (Ab) to answer the following questions:
1) How do rationally designed small molecules alter the folding and structure of Ab species?
2) How does Ab misfold on membrane bilayers and how does this correlate to cell toxicity?
3) What role does membrane composition play in the formation of Ab aggregates?
